Blue Rock Region

Explore the Blue Rock Region in southern Muskingum County and northern Morgan County. Large deposits of blue-colored shale that were found in the region and trace back millions of years when Ohio was a shallow inlet sea gave the area its name. The Blue Rock Region is an area of unique attractions including the Blue Rock Station which features a 2,200 square foot house currently under construction that utilizes tires, cans, bottles, barnwood and mud to create a sustainable living environment. The Blue Rock Station created a map of 13 unique sites and other information for Blue Rock Region visitors.
