State Parks

Barkcamp (Belmont County)
Belmont County's rugged hills provide the backdrop for picturesque Barkcamp State Park. In addition to fine recreational facilities, visitors will enjoy the mature woodlands, open meadows, scenic lake and abundant wildlife of this secluded park.

Guilford Lake State Park (Columbiana County)
Guilford Lake State Park is a quiet fishing lake located in northeastern Ohio on the west fork of the Little Beaver Creek. The gentle rolling terrain of the area offers a serene escape for park visitors year round.

Beaver Creek State Park  (East Liverpool, Columbiana County)
Beaver Creek State Park, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, is one of Ohio's most scenic parks. The park includes Little Beaver Creek, a state and national wild and scenic river and acres of forest wilderness. The rich history of the area invites visitors to explore Gaston's Mill, pioneer village and abandoned canal locks.

Blue Rock State Park(Muskingum County)
Rugged hills and rich green forests provide the backdrop to Blue Rock State Park. Escape to nature's solitude and enjoy the diverse flora and fauna of this scenic state park.

Dillon State Park
The wooded hills and scenic valleys of the Dillon area offer a picturesque setting for outdoor adventure. Whether boating the quiet coves and inlets of the lake or hiking the forest trails, Ohio's rural hill country provides an outstanding recreational experience at Dillon State Park.

Jefferson Lake State Park
Swimming, fishing, boating, hunting and camping are just a few of the sports that can be enjoyed at this state park. Winter recreational opportunities, including cross-country skiing and ice skating, are also available.

Muskingum River Parkway State Park
The Muskingum River Parkway is a rich cultural and natural resource. History lives as the ten locks are hand-operated today in the same manner as 150 years ago. Visitors can picnic, fish or boat along the parkway in the beautiful Muskingum Valley.

Salt Fork State Park
The landscape of rural Guernsey County appears as a patchwork of forested hills, open meadows and misty valleys threaded by numerous streams. At the heart of this region is Salt Fork State Park, encompassing the woodlands and fields flanking Salt Fork Reservoir. As Ohio's largest state park, Salt Fork boasts recreational facilities to suit nearly every taste.

State Forests

Beaver Creek State Forest
This 1,100 acre state forest in Columbiana County allows public hunting in the main tract of forest land.

Blue Rock State Forest
The 4,579-acre forest is located 12 miles southeast of Zanesville in Muskingum County and features 26 miles of bridle trails.

Fernwood State Forest
A 3,023 acre forest located in Jefferson County. The area was formerly strip mined for coal and features 22 family campsites (no fee), a 3 mile hiking trail (land lab), several picnic areas and 3 shooting ranges (handicapped accessible).

Harrison State Forest
A 1,345 acres forest located in Harrison County. The land was formerly strip mined for coal and includes such amenities as family and horse camping (no fee), 24 miles of bridle and hiking trails, a shooting range and fishing ponds.

Yellow Creek State Forest
A 756 acre state forest in Columbiana County.
